This brings us to the question of exactly what the Bush administration ignored before 9/11, and what they knew (but claim to be ignorant of). In light of press secretary Ari Fleischer's statement, "The president did not receive information about the use of airplanes as missiles by suicide bombers. This was a new type of attack that was not foreseen," and national security advisor Condoleezza Rice's followup statement, "I don't think that anyone could have predicted that these people would take an airplane and slam it into the World Trade Center," let's look at the following timeline.
